Indianapolis Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire on Rural Street Wednesday morning.

Firefighters got to the one-story maintenance garage and found smoke and flames.

The building is owned by the Marion County Health Department and is used to fix ambulances for Wishard Hospital.

IFD Captain Gregg Harris says employees were inside at the time, but were able to escape.

The Charles Tindley Accelerated School near the garage was evacuated and about 30 students were taken to the hospital for observation.

Officials were concerned about heavy smoke from the fire.

No word yet on a cause.
