Sisters of St. Francis Health Services is postponing its contract termination with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield until Friday.
Both organizations are optimistic that a long-term contract extension will be finalized by then.
The contract was scheduled to terminate at midnight Sunday.
Sisters of St. Francis Health Services is based in Mishawaka and operates 13 hospitals in Indiana and Illinois.
