An event being held today in Indianapolis is aimed at encouraging high school students to enter the aviation industry.

AAR Corporation, which maintains and repairs aircraft at its Indianapolis maintenance center, will host 30 high school guidance counselors for an open house at the Aviation Technology Center.

Director of Recruiting Greg Dellinger says the program will focus on providing information needed to help counselors spur student interest.

Dellinger says the event will serve as a business-education partnership, with Purdue and Vincennes Universities participating.

Counselors will receive a ride on Vincennes' Boeing 737 and hear presentations from all parties.
