Community Shred Day Battles Identity Theft
By Reed Parker
4/25/2008

Saturday is Community Shred Day, as part of Crimestoppers’ Identity Theft Awareness Week.

Local and state officials are asking people to get rid of old documents and things that could compromise your identity.

Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter says this is becoming a bigger problem and Hoosiers are being impacted.

Community Shred Day allows you to take your old documents to several police departments and other locations around central Indiana and have them destroyed free of charge. The hours are 10am-2pm.
