A Renaissance School teacher accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student appeared in court Friday morning.
36-year-old Sheila Vazquez is charged with four felony counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Deputy Prosecutor David Wyser said Vazquez and the student flirted with each other at school, before engaging in sexual behavior at the school and then allegedly having sex at Vazquez's home in the Castleton area.
Prosecutors say Vazquez told police the same story, but her attorney, Jonathan Gotkin, says his client denies any involvement with the boy. Her trial is set for July 16.
Gotkin is also attempting to get Vazquez's bond reduced from the current $30,000. A bond hearing is set for Tuesday.
