The U.S. Postal Service is issuing a new stamp celebrating the 100th anniversary of the song, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game".

Indianapolis native Albert Von Tizler wrote the song in 1908 along with lyricist Jack Norworth. Since then it's become a tradition for baseball fans in the stands to sing it during the seventh-inning stretch.

The stamp features the song's title and notes from the music. The image is based on an 1880 Michigan company's "trade card" showing a baseball scene.

The new stamp was unveiled at victory field Wednesday afternoon prior to the start of an Indianapolis Indians game.

The only other song the postal service has honored with a stamp is "The Stars and Stripes Forever.”

“Take Me Out to the Ball Game" is thought to be the third most-often played song in the U.S. behind "Happy Birthday" and "The Star Spangled Banner".
