Am I insane?

Two reasons I ask you that question. 1) Who spends $140 on running shoes? 2) I'm running a 5K in June.
I got talked into running this 5K by two of my friends, one of whom was a distance runner in high school. And now that my work schedule is somewhat consistent (still crazy, but consistent at least), I have time to properly train to run that distance.
I've mentioned it before, but it's the Couch-To-5K program (C25K for short). It starts with intervals of walking and jogging, eventually leading to all jogging for 3.2 miles, roughly 30 minutes. It's supposed to last 9 weeks unless I feel I'm not ready for the next week, at which point I repeat the previous week. I started yesterday and I'm feeling good about it.
I wanted to get the right kind of running shoe for this so I went ...
Back on Track

I finally got the urge to get back on track with my Weight Watchers program last week. I weighed in at 260.6 lbs, up about 5.2 from my previous weigh-in in December. However since being back on track, I have lost weight but I don't know the exact amount. I wasn't able to weigh in because last night I ended up having to be designated driver for my friend's 21st birthday so I didn't get to sleep until 5:00 this morning. I skipped the weigh in to get some sleep and finish shoveling my driveway before work.
I took a peek on my scale at home, which averages about 3-5 pounds higher than what the WW scale says and it was much lower than last week's weigh-in so I'm feeling good about it. I'm getting back to counting my points and tracking everything I eat so I'm feeling good ...
I'm back (for good)

Once again, I know I've been lacking with the updates. I've had a few weeks where I've been getting various tests done to see if we can figure out this stomach problem but we haven't. To date, I've had an ultrasound on my gallbladder (negative), an "Upper GI/Small Bowel Follow Through" - which is basically an x-ray of my intestines. They found a small "abnormality" on there and I had an upper endoscopy done, which also came back negative. So basically we don't know what's wrong. But I've been feeling good for several weeks so I'm just gonna stick with what I'm doing.
II finally got back into the gym last Saturday. I'm getting back onto a regular workout schedule, which will be slightly skewed during the weeks of Christmas and New Years but I'll work around it. I weigh in for the first time in several weeks tomorrow ...

What to Fuel Up On
As long as you’re staying within your overall range for the day, you don’t need to be obsessive about matching the following calorie and nutrient ratios perfectly. Just be careful not to fall into the very common trap of thinking that it’s OK to eat anything and everything in sight because you just worked out. Many people are very hungry after a workout, making it easy to eat more than you really need, or choose foods that won’t really help your body. Eating too much of the wrong thing can cause your body to store that food as fat instead of using your post-workout food to refuel and repair your muscles.
It is best to include a moderate amount of carbohydrates and protein in your post- exercise meal. By combining carbohydrates your insulin levels nearly double. By the insulin levels doubling, more glycogen is stored ...
Weigh-In Results 9-25-09

I didn't weigh in yesterday because I had a meeting to attend that I had forgotten about. I probably had time to go afterwards but there was a chili cook-off at this meeting and I probably had a little too much chili and table snacks...haha.
But I went this morning and I was really happy with my results. It had been about 5 weeks since my last weigh-in and in that time, I lost 7 pounds. That brings my total weight loss to 79 pounds (Really? I couldn't get one more to make it an even 80?). My current weight is 263.4 pounds. Without doing any math whatsoever, I'm assuming that's around 1.5 pounds per week, which is what Weight Watchers prefers any losses to be.
I'm especially proud of that because it's all eating-related. I hardly did any exercising during that time period. I did some lawn ...
