Giving Back to Those Who Served

This weekend is Veterans Day, which means remembering and honoring all those who served; and what better way to do that than to give back to those who fought for this nation's freedom?

"For as much as our heroes have sacrificed, they deserve the best care and support available in their hour of need."

At this Sunday's Bud Light Tailgate on Georgia Street, every veteran or active duty military member that comes to the WIBC tent and shows their military ID will receive a raffle ticket to redeem one FREE beverage, while supplies last, from the Bud Light stands, all thanks to Singer Financial and their "Pay It Forward Program."

For those who want to do more, there will be donation buckets from Semper Fi Fund, an organization that provides lifetime support and financial assistance to those critically ill or wounded post-9/11, at each tent.  The donations will go towards those who served in all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

Since 2004, Semper Fi Fund has issued $158 million to over 19,500 veterans and their families. The organization, which was created by a group of Marine Courps spouses, provide support financially and emotionally through different programs, such as: career transitioning, sports programs, family support, adaptive transportation, specialized equipment, adpative housing, and education.
