Plainfield Officer On Leave After "White Male Privilege" Comment
Carrie Weber, A Plainfield police captain has been placed on administrative leave after making a comment about "white male privilege" at a transgender awareness training session. Her comment appeared to anger people in the room.
About halfway through the presentation, a 28-year veteran of the Plainfield Police Department spoke up, asking questions about a certain statistic presented -- that transgender people are 3.32 times more likely to experience police violence, compared to non-transgendered people.
Someone asked about where her stats were coming from, and she played the “white male privilege” card.
"We're two years in to this 'white male privilege' thing and I'm still wondering where I can cash in my white male privilege. I tried going to the buffet and paying with my white male privilege and they didn't accept it."-Hammer
