It's A Wonderful Life on WIBC
The theater at Fort Benjamin Harrison has a new name and a new chance at life!
This once vibrant theater, built in 1929, hosted soldiers and family members who came to watch films, performances, and more.
Fort Ben and consquently the theater were decommisioned in the mid-90s. Though used as a rehearsal space for military bands, the building has had little public use in the past two decades. That changed this month as its doors re-opened under the name of The Theater at the Fort!
“It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” was the inaugural performance by the Indianapolis theater group Spotlight Players and recieved rave reviews. What better way to welcome the holiday season and the re-awakening of this venue than a play based off of the “It’s A Wonderful Life” film by Frank Capra?
