Challenge: Spring Clean in 7 Days
Do you have a case of spring fever?
Here's your fool-proof guide to get your spring cleaning done in only seven days. Break the work down into manageable parts, make it do-able for your schedule, and have more time to spend outside soaking up the sunshine!
DAY 1: KITCHEN
The room everyone ends up in...cooking for your loved ones will be much more enjoyable after a good wipe down. Wash down the cabinets, microwave, stove/oven, and any other surface that may need some love.
DAY 2: BEDROOMS
Make your bedroom the place you can't wait to end up at the end of your day. Wash all your linens, flip your mattress, wipe down all the dust from ceiling fans, windowsills, furniture, etc., and vacuum/sweep.
DAY 3: KITCHEN (TAKE TWO)
Time to ensure you have nothing but the best in your pantry/cabinets/refridgerator! Empty out any areas you store food and clean it out. Next go through all the food and discard any expired food and collect food to donate that you don't see yourself using in the near future. Put the food you're keeping back in an organized manner, making sure labels are out so you know what you have. Why not clean/organize the cabinet under the sink full of cleaning supplies while you're at it.
DAY 4: LIVING AREAS
Vacuum and clean any dirty furniture, dust anything that needs to be dusted, and put clutter in its place! Wash any blankets, rugs, and curtains. For the most fun part...put out your favorite spring decorations!
DAY 5: BATHROOMS
Organize the medicine cabinet and cabinet under the sink, clean mirrors and shower, and disinfect the sink and toilet. Make sure the floors are nice and clean as well.
DAY 6: LAUNDRY ROOM
DAY 7: HOUSEHOLD MAINTENANCE
Sweep porches/walkways, check air filters, change light bulbs, switch out your wardrobe, and donate unnecessary clutter.
PHEW! Now that your home is fresh and clean, you can enjoy your time at home, open the windows for some fresh air, and get excited for plenty of summer days to come! See The Happier Homemaker's blog for more inspiration and ideas!
