Indiana Voter Fraud Investigations Have Political Connection
For the second time in as many months, a case of voter fraud is being investigated in Indiana. State Police are now looking at voter fraud cases in Allen, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Johnson, Lake and Madison counties. This adds to the original investigation, which is looking into voter fraud in Marion and Hendricks counties.
That first investigation involved a little known (if, at all) group called the Indiana Voter Registration Project. To date, there is no website (.com, .net or .org) for the organization, nor any social media presence for the group. Only, according to sources, a small office on N. Meridian Street in Indianapolis.
At the time of the first investigation back in mid-September, Indiana Voter Registration Project spokesperson Christy Setzer blasted the inquiry, stating:
We sincerely hope that no one in a partisan elected position is using their office in an effort to make it harder for the people of Indiana to vote. The Indiana Voter Registration Project is a nonpartisan effort to ensure that all Indianans who are eligible to vote can do so.
As reported first on Tony Katz and the Morning News on WIBC, Setzer is a long-standing Democratic operative who worked on the presidential campaigns of both former Vice President Al Gore and former Vermont Governor Howard Dean. She has served as the National Media Director for the SEIU, as well as working for both the AFL-CIO and Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She currently serves as President, and is the founder, of New Heights Communications - a Washington DC public relations firm.
The most recent investigation, which expanded the number of counties involved in the potential fraud, prompted reaction by Craig Varoga, founder of Patriot Majority USA:
After all is said and done, when this partisan investigation finds no wrongdoing by the organization, Connie Lawson and the Indiana State Police will have prevented 45,000 African Americans from voting in this year’s elections. That is why today we reported their outrageous actions to the Department of Justice.
Varoga is another Democratic operative, working on the campaigns of Democratic Senators Jean Shaheen (NH,) Harry Reid (NV) and former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley. He also worked on the 1996 presidential campaign of President Bill Clinton and the 2000 presidential campaign of former Vice President Al Gore.
Patriot Majority USA is listed as a proud client of New Heights Communications.
According to the Patriot Majority website, they are focused on, "... (a) patriotic mission to create jobs, promote economic development and preserve the American Dream for all families." However, prominent on their home page is a link to "Stop The Koch Agenda." This refers to the Koch Brothers, David and Charles, who are well known for their support of conservative and libertarian causes, as well as their multi-million dollar donations to hospitals and the arts across the country.
Their last tweet, which is October 31st, 2012, also is focused on the Koch Brothers, as is a majority of their tweets from that month:
Varoga took to Twitter to accuse the Indiana State Police of harassment, which I then asked him to clarify:
If he responds, it will be added here.
