Carmel Clay Schools has clarified the circumstances behind Superintendent Nicholas Wahl being placed on paid administrative leave, saying Wahl's suspension does not involve a student.
"The situation does not involve students nor have we involved any law enforcement," district spokeswoman Courtney Taylor said in an email to the Indy Star Tuesday.
Less than 48 hours after the board placed Wahl on leave, Carmel Clay Schools announced its human resources director had also been placed on leave as part of the district's "thorough review" of leadership.
When Wahl was put on leave, school board President Layla Spanenberg said it would allow them to conduct the review "in a manner that respects the confidentiality of its employees' personal matters."
Interestingly, the Indy Star notes that both Wahl, 52, and Middleton, 48, filed for divorce this year.
WIBC host Tony Katz couldn't help but wonder, "Is love in the air?"
