Indy Red Line Expansion: Adding Multiple Inconveniences to Your Commute for the 'Convenience' of Public Transit

Left-Turn Restrictions on Meridian and College Ave. Now Public

In yet another demonstration of their complete lack of judgment and absence of logic, the City-County Council Public Works Committee voted Tuesday night to put forth a proposal that will limit left-hand turns on Meridian and College Avenue when the Red Line public transit system is operational.

The proposed ordinance lists 52 new intersections where drivers won’t be able to make a left-hand turn. And just for clarification, that doesn't strictly refer to left-hand turns on red. That's right; no left-hand turns period.

But wait, there's more!

The inevitable delays and frustrations added to your daily commute will also be accompanied by a reduction in available parking along College and Meridian.

All these inconveniences in order to accommodate the 'convenience' of Indy's asinine Red Line.

WIBC host Tony Katz gave a complete breakdown of the specific intersections along College and Meridian that will be affected by the City-County Council Public Works Committee's imbecilic proposal. Click the link below to hear the list:
