Jimmy Kimmel Doubles Down, Attacks Gun Owners in Monologue

Katz: "Kimmel's argument is the emotional argument of a child."

Jimmy Kimmel doubled down on his gun control comments Tuesday night, slamming lawmakers and supporters of the Second Amendment who said in the wake of the massacre in Las Vegas that it’s too soon to talk about gun control legislation.

“Maybe it’s too soon for you because deep down inside, you know, in your heart you know you bear some responsibility for the fact that almost anyone get any weapon they want,” Kimmel said.

The host added that he will continue to use his late-night show as a platform to discuss the issue.

“Last time I checked, the First Amendment is at least as important as the Second Amendment,” he said.

WIBC host Tony Katz tore into Kimmel, calling the late-night host's argument "the argument of a child."

Katz:

I support the Second Amendment, even in the face of horror. I think that when you talk about changing quite literally the right of people to protect themselves and the ones they love, it should be done with a lot of thought and care, not a lot of emotion and a lot of anger, which is what Jimmy Kimmel has.

Then he goes about saying that those who support the Second Amendment are responsible. That you 'bear the responsibility.' He actually used those words. How am I responsible for what Stephen Paddock does in this hotel room?

That is the emotional argument of a child and it should be dismissed.

...It was a disgusting thing to say. It was a terrible thing to say. [Kimmel] should apologize first thing in the monologue tonight.
