Mayor Joe Hogsett announced Thursday that the city of Indianapolis has hired a law firm to pursue legal action against manufacturers and distributors opioids.

Hogsett said people have sought relief from pain only to become victims of addiction, implying that drug companies themselves are responsible for America's opioid epidemic.

WIBC host Tony Katz tore into the Mayor following the announcement, calling the suing of drug manufacturers "cowardly" and labeling Hogsett "an embarrassment" to the city.
