An Overly PC Culture Creates Fertile Ground for Terror Attacks

The Barrier to 'See Something, Say Something' is Real and Destructive

A driver in a pickup truck killed eight people and injured 11 in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday, in what officials are calling an act of terrorism.

Suspect Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov "did this in the name of ISIS," said John Miller, NYPD deputy commissioner for intelligence and counter-terrorism.

Saipov had been planning the attack for a "number of weeks," Miller said, and appeared to have followed instructions ISIS has put out on how to carry out such attacks.

WIBC host Tony Katz discussed the attack at length on his afternoon broadcast Wednesday, and the barriers America faces in preventing future attacks.

Katz:

If you want to actually believe in 'See Something, Say Something,' what does it mean? And who will believe you? And do people not say something because they fear what they might be called if they're wrong.

...We have seen this on multiple occasions, that investigations don't go forward because people don't want to be accused of being anti-Muslim. Can we afford this? And if this is the case, how do you engage a philosophy of 'See Something, Say Something' if this is how people think?
