Tony Katz Offers Some 'Heartfelt' Advice to Third-Grader

Katz: "Kid, you're not that special."

An father claims his third-grade son was unfairly punished by his teacher for talking during silent reading, and now the child doesn't want to return to school.  

In a letter to the Moultrie News, the unidentified father said his son came home in tears after the teacher kept him in from recess as punishment.

"I think this is horrible," the father wrote. "It isn’t a teacher’s job to destroy a child’s love for school. Instead of constant punishment for every little infraction, what about using positive reinforcement?"
