WTHR's Bob Kravitz Calls Pence's Colts Walkout 'Appalling and Preplanned Political Theater'

Kravitz: "Re-ignited the Trump Administration’s war against free speech and political dissent."

Vice President Mike Pence walked out on his home-state Indianapolis Colts Sunday when members of the opposing team kneeled for the national anthem. 

"I left today's Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem," Pence tweeted.

Pence's decision to exit the game was highly criticized by those who viewed it as a political stunt and a waste of taxpayer dollars. 

WTHR contributor Bob Kravitz called Pence's actions "a cynical and appalling exercise in political theater" in an op-ed piece, claiming the incident "re-ignited the Trump Administration’s war against free speech and political dissent.
