Democrats Owe The Indiana State Police An Apology
The Indiana Democratic Party is staying silent as media outlets, fueled by Democratic operative Craig Varoga, and his group Patriot Majority (a PAC designed to elect candidates like Democratic Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada) are perpetuating the false narrative that an investigation by the Indiana State Police into possible voter fraud is intended to suppress black voters.
The accusations against the ISP, and Secretary Lawson, are being used as a vehicle to attack Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Gov. Mike Pence. Varoga, and his media allies, are using the ISP investigation into voter fraud by Patriot Majority to tie Pence to the state police and, ultimately, to the allegation of suppressing black voters.
However, as WIBC Morning Host Tony Katz has repeatedly noted, there is no evidence of this at all:
The Indiana State Police were called into an investigation because the people of Hendricks County found voter irregularities. That led to (an investigation) in Marion County, and now 56 counties. Story number two is that Connie Lawson saw in her office a flurry of activity, and said this activity could be voter fraud. This has Democrats apoplectic – for whatever reason – other than it allows for a talking point. (Democrats are saying) Connie Lawson is responsible for going after groups like the Indiana Voter Registration Project, and is trying to scare people by saying there is massive voter fraud by the thousands.
(Lawson) thought something was going on, and handed it over to the state police. I don’t see anything wrong with that.
Tony continued, saying that the failure of state Democrats to disavow Varoga, and his clear characterization of the ISP as racists, is reprehensible. The Democrats of Indiana owe the ISP an apology:
It’s all about trying to influence an election and push this idea that somehow there’s this racial suppression going on when it isn’t. It’s why I’ve said the Democratic Party should apologize immediately for not shouting down Craig Varoga and this ridiculous onslaught.
No word yet on whether the Indiana Democratic Party will issue that apology.
