Lane Restrictions Coming on U.S. 31 Near 465

INDOT contractors will be restricting traffic on U.S. 31/Meridian Street during overnight hours this week as they set bridge beams for the new ramp to I-465.

INDOT says the restrictions will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday nights on U.S. 31 in both directions between 106th Street and 96th Street.  After midnight, crews will temporarily stop traffic for up to 20 minutes at a time as the beams are lifted over the roadway.

It's part of the construction of a new bridge that will carry traffic from southbound U.S. 31 to eastbound I-465.

Crews will also be restricting lanes on U.S. 31 at I-465 on Friday and Monday nights for bridge beam work but will not be stopping traffic.

All restrictions are expected to end before 6:00 a.m. the following day.
