68th ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GIFT & HOBBY SHOW

10am|Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion

Indiana’s largest Holiday shopping event!  Everything you can imagine, under one roof!  Plus local choirs, magicians, and music on the entertainment stage.  Lots of local authors signing books throughout the event, and Daniel the Tiger on Saturday. Goes through Sunday!   Save $2 on tickets online.  

 

“HEROES FROM THE HEARTLAND”

10am|Indiana State Museum

This is an outstanding exhibit!   I hope every Hoosier gets a chance to see it before it closes on Veterans Day.  It celebrates the contributions of Indiana Veterans, and offering resources available to Veterans returning home.  You are asked to participate by electronically contributing pictures of Veterans and active duty personnel.  The State Museum is also having a canned food drive for the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation.  FREE Admission for Veterans.

 

INAUGURAL VETERAN’S DAY CEREMONY in Fishers

10:00am|Liberty Plaza

Join the city of Fishers in honoring local Veterans during this inaugural event.   Hosted by retired U.S. Navy Commander, El Ahlwardt who will recognize the brave men and women who have courageously served in the armed forces.   FREE!

 

 

41st INDY INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL

2pm|Indiana State Fairgrounds Blue Ribbon Pavilion

Day 2 of the 3 day Festival with beautiful displays, music, and dance…food & drink from all over the world,  hosted by the Nationalities Council of Indiana, Inc.   Celebrate the culture of the world at Indy’s oldest and largest pan-ethnic event!

 

 

CIRCLE CITY DRUM CIRCLE

7pm|Indiana Convention Center – Georgia Street Lobby

Percussive Arts Society, PASIC, Bongo Boy Music School, Remo and Music For All, are uniting to host the first annual Circle City Drum Circle.  It’s FREE to participate and NO music experience is needed! Hundreds of drums and percussion instruments will be provided.  Be part of creating something BIG!

22nd ANNUAL SPIRIT & PLACE FESTIVAL

8am|Locations vary daily

This years’ theme is “POWER”.  The Spirit & Place Festival is a celebration of the arts, humanities and religion to build bridges and recognize the places that make our community special. More than 110 partners have created 37 events in 32 venues across the city.   It runs through the 12th and hours and locations vary daily. 

 

 

2nd ANNUAL PIKE HEROES, HEALTH, HOPE 5K

8am|Pike YMCA

The whole family can honor our Veterans on this Veterans Day.  Proceeds will benefit homeless Veterans through the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation.

 

 

WELLBEING FEST:  YOUR SELF CARE MARKETPLACE

10am|Ivy Tech Culinary Conference Center

Organized by Indy Holistic Hub, featuring more than 50 professional holistic vendors, holistic services and well-being presentations.   $5 in advance, $7 at the door…Kids are free!

 

 

GREAT INDY PET EXPO

10am|Indiana State Fairgrounds Exposition Hall

Indy’s largest celebration of pets and pet people!  Saturday and Sunday. The biggest pet related trade show in the state.  Over 100 booths.  This also might be where you’ll find your next four legged family member!  20 Rescue groups on site.  Free contests and great prizes.  First 100 people thru the door both days gets a Free dog wash from Pet Valu!

 

 

TEACHER DAY OUT AT THE INDIANA STATE MUSEUM

10am|Indiana State Museum

Teachers!  You get to spend a day, at  the museum with your family to learn what’s new!  Just register here, and bring your ID.  Receive free materials from state agencies and take a behind the scenes tour.

 

 

VETERANS DAY MEMORIAL SERVICE & VETERANS DAY PARADE in DOWNTOWN INDY

10:30am|Indiana War Memorial Museum

The annual Veterans Day service begins with a musical prelude performed by the 38th Division Band, Indiana National Guard, followed by the service on the north steps of the War Memorial.  The parade kicks off at 11:45 at Michigan & Pennsylvania.

 

 

GLOBAL ORPHAN FOUNDATION OPEN HOUSE

1pm|The Arch at Chatham

November is National Adoption Month and Global Orphanage is opening their doors for families ready to adopt.  FREE to attend with interactive experiences, special performances and snacks.  Also, an adoption grand drawing for any family who is in the adoption process.  Goes until 3pm.

 

 

INDIANAPOLIS 2017 HOLIDAY WINE & COCKTAIL FEST

4pm|Fountain Tap in Fountain Square

This is a good one! YOGA BRUNCH & MIMOSAS

10am|The Biltwell Event Center

$25 gets you a 60 minute yoga class with brunch and mimosas, but the best part is that part of the proceeds benefit the Veteran’s Yoga Project!

 

 

HOPELINE FROM VERIZON – GAME DAY COLLECTION

11am|Lucas Oil Stadium

Bring your no longer used wireless devices, in any condition and from any carrier to the Colts game.  Devices are recycled for cash grants and help domestic violence survivors and their families transition into safe housing thru Coburn Place.   Donations will be accepted at 10 spots outside Lucas Oil Stadium just before the game.

 

 

INDIANAPOLIS CHILDREN’S CHOIR FALL CONCERT

NOON|All Souls Unitarian Church

The world renowned Indianapolis Children’s Choir kicks off the Church’s Concert Season in the Church Sanctuary, followed by a cookie reception.  FREE and open to the public.

                                     

 

“BILL W & DR. BOB”

2pm|Indy Fringe Theatre

A live performance about the two men who founded Alcoholics Anonymous in 1935.   It will make you laugh, and it will make you cry.  It will also leave you feeling hope for the people you know that struggle with addiction.  The show goes through the 19th.  Tickets start at $18.
