OPENING DAY OF "CELEBRATION CROSSING"!

10am|Indiana State Museum

The Children’s Choir will perform at 11am, and then Santa arrives by helicopter at Noon, unveiling the 92 Indiana County Ornament Tree!  Take a ride on the Santa Clause Express train…and have lunch at the LS Ayres Tearoom…a long time Hoosier family tradition.  Free with admission to the Museum.

 

CONSERVATORY CROSSING HOLIDAY SHOW

10am|Garfield Park

The Conservatory is all decked out in holiday colors with beautiful exhibits and operating model trains and villages!   Gorgeous Poinsettias and thousands of twinkling lights.  Goes through Dec. 31st.  Free with paid admission.

 

 

THE GINGERBREAD VILLAGE

10am|Conner Prairie

See an assortment of incredible gingerbread creations!  From simple to elaborate, and created by amateurs and professionals.  While you’re there, let them know what you think is best by casting your vote for the People’s Choice Award!  The last day to vote is Dec. 15th.

 

 

JOLLY DAYS WINTER WONDERLAND

10am|The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Young and old alike LOVE “Jolly Days Winter Wonderland” because you can ice skate in your socks, visit with Santa, see Jingles the Holly Bear, have a snowball fight, and take your turn on the two story Yule Slide!  Goes through Jan 7th.

 

STARBASE INDY

Noon|Wyndam Indianapolis West

The Theme:  “Celebrating Star Trek’s vision of the future by promoting humanitarianism and STEM education today”.  The event lasts through Sunday with over 100 presentations with featured guests that include Astronaut Dr. David Wolf, and Actors Denise Crosby and Robert O’Reilly from various Star Trek Series.  Also an interesting talk with Marc Okrand who invents languages used on Star Trek.

 

 

CARMEL “CHRISTKINDLMARKT”

1pm|The Center For Performing Arts

Brand new and open through Dec. 24th!  Bringing the Old World Christmas charm in Germany to Carmel.  German food and gifts, an outdoor skating rink, holiday music, plus Santa and his live reindeer. 

 

 

49th CHRISTMAS AT THE ZOO

5pm|The Indianapolis Zoo

New this year is “Enchanted Santa’s Village” under the Bicentennial Pavilion.  Beautiful lights fill his village where you can decorate cookies in Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen…visit with Santa in his study and see his reindeer in the barn.  Click HERE to see special daily activities between 5-9pm. 

 

DOWNTOWN INDY INC.’S 55th ANNUAL “CIRCLE OF LIGHTS” CELEBRATION

6pm|Monument Circle

IBEW Local 481 invite you to join over 100,000 other spectators, to celebrate the lighting of the world’s tallest “Christmas Tree”!  New this year, the stage will be on the NORTH side of Monument Circle.   Live music starts at 6pm with the lighting set for 7:50pm. 

 

 

 

SATURDAY, Nov. 25th

 

ARTISAN HOLIDAY MARKET

9am|Beech Grove High School

Big event and big fundraiser for Delta Theta Tau.  More than 150 booths of unique items, handcrafted by Artisans from all around the Midwest.  It’s one of the oldest juried completely hand crafted fairs in the area.  Betcha find a lot of good stuff for everyone on your gift list!   $3 admission.

 

 

9th ANNUAL HOOSIER ARTISANS BOUTIQUE

10am|Hamilton County 4H Fairgrounds

Great gifts and a great cause!  Shop local from more than 75 Hoosier Artisans and crafters!  The Hoosier Artisan Boutique is an annual juried arts & crafts event held to benefit Toys for Tots of Central Indiana.  ADMISSION is FREE for the 1st 50 shoppers that donate a new unwrapped toy receive a limited edition tote bag!  

 

 

6th ANNUAL “FESTIVAL OF TREES”

10am|Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center

80 gorgeous holiday themed trees, and a 30 foot “show-stopper” in Eli Lilly Hall!  This year they have more special programs, as well as your old favorites.   Bring the kids to the Sugarplum Breakfast and meet characters from “The Nutcracker”.  Goes thru January 6th. 

 

FEDERAL HILL COMMONS ICE PLAZA

11am|Federal Hill Commons Park in Noblesville

All ages can skate at the new ice rink at Federal Hill Commons.  Rental ice skates are available!  Today is Small Business Saturday…just bring a receipt from your favorite mom & pop store, and you can skate for $10!  Check HERE for hours and special events.

 

 

INDIANA ORIGINALS DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE & EXPO

A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Family Photo Day & First Responders Discount Day)

Celebrate the season with what has become a favorite family holiday tradition.  Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and 3 lively ghosts take you on a snowy journey.  Have your holiday photo taken in front of their tree by a professional photographer.  Photos will be taken from 4:30 to 5:30pm.

The wildly popular holiday exhibit is back!  Opening weekend…Nine working model trains travel around local and national landmarks.  More than 1,200 feet of track!   It’s fantastic and you’ll have plenty of time to see it because it goes through Jan. 15th.

 

MOSCOW BALLET – “GREAT RUSSIAN NUTCRACKER”

The one and only Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker!  All ages are invited to celebrate Christmas with the Moscow Ballet company of almost 40 ballerinas and dancers on their 25th Anniversary Tour of North America.  One show only!
