“A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD”

10am|Studio Theater in Carmel

The beautiful timeless story of two friends who encourage and take care of one another.   Today is the last day of this musical based on the award winning books by Arnold Lobel.  Two shows, with the last performance at noon.

 

 

BIG TEN FAN FEST

3pm|Indiana Convention Center

Pep rallies, games and activities for the whole family, plus live Big Ten Network shows and more.  Goes until 8pm.  Free with a ticket to Saturday’s Big Ten Football game, otherwise…tix start at $4.

 

 

“STUTZ STARRY NIGHT” ARTISTS HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

5pm|Stutz Business Center

Great place to find gifts this holiday season!  More than 40 local Artists will open their studios to showcase one of a kind artworks, ranging from paintings to sculpture to furniture.  Refreshments and live holiday music too.   FREE admission!

 

 

HOLIDAY WINDOW TOUR

5pm|Harrison Center for the Arts

Opening night!  23 Artist studio basement windows are turned into mini store front window displays!  Take a walk on the north end of the Harrison Center through the month of December.

 

 

INDIANA CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL

5:30pm|Indiana State Fairgrounds – Centennial Hall

A beautiful sight through January 7th.  33 sets of artist designed, handmade giant lantern displays!  Food and other cultural activities, along with nightly stage performances.  $10 - $15 admission.

 

 

25th ANNUAL FISHERS FREE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS DISPLAY

6pm|Reynolds Farm Equipment in Fishers

One of Central Indiana’s most spectacular outdoor holiday lights displays, celebrating 25 years!  Viewable 24 hours a day, but most beautiful after dark!  Free, but monetary and non perishable donations encouraged for the Fishers “Come-To-Me” Food Pantry.  

 

HOLIDAY HOUSE CHARITY CHRISTMAS DISPLAY

6pm|Holiday House in Greenwood

South-siders rave about this home that opens every year so visitors can see the 212 piece Christmas village…30 Nativity scenes, and 70 beautifully decorated trees!  There is no cost, but donations to Riley Hospital for Children are accepted.  Open until 10pm each day.

 

 

INDIANA PLEIN AIR PAINTERS ASSOC. ART SHOW AND SALE

6pm|Indiana Landmarks Center

A one day show and sale featuring landscapes and still life priced for gift giving.  Jewelry, note cards, scarves and more created by 12 Artists, who will be on site to answer questions.  Complimentary snacks and beverages available too!  FREE admission.

5th ANNUAL “BREAKFAST WITH THE GRINCH”

Meet the Grinch and the rest of “Whoville” at the Silver Centre!  A hot “Whoville” breakfast, watch the Grinch Movie, and make some beautiful holiday crafts.  Reservations required!

 

 

“HOT CIDER HUSTLE” 5K

9am|White River State Park

Last minute registration starts at 7:40am.  Johnny Appleseed would have loved this race!  Proceeds benefit Easterseals Crossroads.  Waiting for you at the finish line…Hot Apple Cider and Caramel Apples!

 

 

JOLLY DAYS WINTER WONDERLAND

10am|The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Young and old alike, LOVE “Jolly Days Winter Wonderland” because you can ice skate in your socks, visit with Santa, see Jingles the Holly Bear, have a snowball fight, and take your turn on the two story Yule Slide!  Goes through Jan 7th.

 

MEIJER TAIL GREATER PARTY

10am|Georgia Street – Downtown Indy

Big Ten Football Fans contests and games!  With live entertainment, beverage garden, food and photo opportunities.  You won’t miss a thing because football will be shown on several large screens!  FREE!

 

 

MARVEL UNIVERSE LIVE!  “AGE OF HEROES”

11am|Bankers Life Fieldhouse

All weekend, Marvel Fans come together for this live, action packed, legendary battle to defend the universe from evil!  Spider Man, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy join forces with Doctor Strange.  Today, Shows at 11am, 3 & 7pm  SUN at 1 and 5pm.

 

 

JINGLE RAILS:  THE GREAT WESTERN ADVENTURE

Noon|Eiteljorg Museum

The wildly popular holiday exhibit is back!  Nine working model trains travel around local and national landmarks.  More than 1,200 feet of track!   It’s fantastic and you’ll have plenty of time to see it because it goes through Jan. 15th.

 

 

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

1pm & 4pm|IRT

Celebrate the season with what has become a favorite family holiday tradition.  Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and 3 lively ghosts take you on a snowy journey.   Santa’s Elf and reindeer return for another year! Visit between 2:30-4pm TODAY and visit with the duo!  The 4pm performance includes a post-show discussion.   

 

 

BUTLER BALLET “THE NUTCRACKER

2pm & 8pm|Clowes Memorial Hall

The holiday tradition continues, with spectacular dancing, costumes and scenery.  Indiana’s only fully staged production of Tchaikovsky’s classic holiday ballet!  Listen as Tchaikovsky’s music is brought to live by the Butler Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.   Sunday performances at Noon and 5pm.

 

A CHRISTMAS STORY:  THE MUSICAL

2pm & 8pm|Old National Centre

A hilarious account of Ralphie’s quest to make sure that he gets a “Red Ryder Air Rifle” under his tree this Christmas.  Honored with 3 Tony Award nominations for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.  Goes thru Sunday with several shows today and tomorrow. 

 

 

WORLD FAMOUS ST. ELMO SHRIMP EATING CONTEST

3pm|Georgia Street – Downtown Indy

World Champion Joe Chestnut and other top Major League Eaters will compete during the St. Elmo Shrimp cocktail Eating Championship.  Preliminary rounds will also feature fans and a local media challenge.  FREE admission for spectators!

 

 

A MAGICAL NIGHT WITH MIKE SUPER (Magic & Illusion)

7:30pm|Zionsville Performing Arts Center

Winner of NBC’s “Phenomenon”, Finalist on “America’s Got Talent” and two-time International Magician’s Society Entertainer of the Year brings his spectacular show to Zionsville!  Benefits Zionsville Band & Orchestra Musical Instrument Endowment. 

 

 

2017 BIG TEN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

8pm|Lucas Oil Stadium

This is the 7th time since its inception, that Indianapolis will host the Big Ten Football Championship!  Gates will open at 6:15pm and remember…the “clear bag” policy will be in affect so arrive early.

Start the holiday season with this German tradition!  A nostalgic visit with Christmas past with lots of family fun.  Crafts, singing, dancing, puppet show and more.  $8 for kids and Adults are FREE!

The timeless classic, live on stage as you’ve never seen…or heard before. Parental guidance suggested.  Weekend performances through Dec. 17th.  $16 - $18.

 

 

BROAD RIPPLE “LIGHTS UP!” FESTIVAL

3pm|Broad Ripple Village

FREE family holiday fun with live entertainment, a kids Wonderland Activity Village and Indy’s ONLY Twilight Parade!   When Santa passes you in the parade, file in behind him and follow him to the Firehouse for the Holiday Lighting Ceremony.
