Find out how Indiana settlers survived through winters of the past at this INDOOR experience.  Today is opening day!  Hear from a fur trader, try pickling your own food, and forage with a Civil War Soldier.  Lunch is available.  Goes through Jan. 7th.

JINGLE RAILS:  THE GREAT WESTERN ADVENTURE

10am|Eiteljorg Museum

The wildly popular holiday exhibit is back!  Nine working model trains travel around local and national landmarks.  More than 1,200 feet of track!   It’s fantastic and you’ll have plenty of time to see it because it goes through Jan. 15th.

 

 

104th INDY AUTO SHOW

10am|Indiana Convention Center

Tens of thousands of Hoosiers attend the Indy Auto Show every year, and this one is the 2nd longest running auto show in the country.  21 major manufacturers are here to show off their 2018 models.  More than 400 vehicles on display through Jan. 1st.  $7 at the door.  Active Duty Military, Fire & Police FREE.

 

 

 

SATURDAY, Dec. 30th

 

6th ANNUAL “FESTIVAL OF TREES”

10am|Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center

Still time to see 80 gorgeous holiday themed trees, and a 30 foot “show-stopper” in Eli Lilly Hall!  This year they have more special programs, as well as your old favorites.   Goes thru January 6th. 

 

 

INDIANA CHINESE LANTERN FESTIVAL

5:30pm|Indiana State Fairgrounds – Centennial Hall

A beautiful sight through January 7th.  33 sets of artist designed, handmade giant lantern displays!  Food and other cultural activities, along with nightly stage performances.  $10 - $15 admission.

 

“LIGHTS AT THE BRICKYARD” – FINAL NIGHT!

6pm|Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The FINAL night to celebrate the season at the IMS with a longer route this year!  2 ½ Million Lights illuminate the expanded lineup of beautiful holiday displays.  Different Ticket Options - $25-$50. 

 

 

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT

7pm|Civic Theater in Carmel

The musical about Joseph, his father Jacob, his eleven brothers and a coat of many colors!   You’ll love it!  Goes through January 6th.

 

 

 

 

SUNDAY, Dec. 31st

 

“COUNTDOWN TO NOON”

10am|The Indianapolis Children’s Museum

A fun way to celebrate the final day of 2017!  Music from Grammy nominated musician Zak Morgan, plus all of the museum’s holiday activities as the clock ticks closer to noon.   Everyone receives festive favors for the big moment, while supplies last.  Entry included with admission.

 

FAMILY NEW YEAR’S EVE

6pm|Indiana State Museum

This is another one that allows the little ones to celebrate early!  Face painting, stilt walkers, and music will highlight the evening with a balloon drop at 8pm.  $15 for non-members.  Children 4 and under are free.  Reservations are recommended.   317-232-1637

 

 

2018 PAVILION NEW YEAR’S EVE – “A NIGHT AT THE MULIN ROUGE

9pm|Pan Am Plaza Pavilion

A one of a kind New Year’s Eve experience that will provide you with more stuff than any other party in the city!  Live performances along with Percussionist Joe “Meltdown” Music.  Burlesque dancers, an Aerialist, a premium open bar and appetizers.   Early bird tickets start at $100.

 

 

VEGAS NYE PARTY - “BETTING IT ALL ON 2018”

9pm|The Silver Center Event Hall

Georgia Street is a great place to be this New Year’s Eve with plenty of entertainment, food and drink and fireworks!  At 11:59pm, an IndyCar is hoisted above the crowd and will once again descend to the ground as the clock strikes midnight.   FREE!

 

 

NYE AT THE VOGUE – 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

9pm|The Vogue
