CHOCOLATE SLIDE

10am|Indianapolis Children’s Museum

Looks like a river of chocolate in the Sunburst Atrium and it’s fantastic!  And looks delicious!  Get ready for the Children’s Museum’s “Wonka inspired Wonderland”!  Decorated like a twirly-swirly candy land.   The Chocolate Slide will last until April 29th.

 

 

BOY SCOUTS MEMORABILIA AUCTION

4pm|Indiana State Fairgrounds Harvest Pavilion

Over 200 tables from 16 states!  Over 40 Scout memorabilia dealers.  Like the Antiques Road Show, there will be qualified Scout Memorability Experts to answer questions and appraise your stuff.  FREE for kids in Scout uniforms.  Friday and Saturday.  Doors open at 8am on Saturday. 

 

 

DEVOUR INDY WINTERFEST (Last Weekend)

5pm|Indy Restaurants

3-course, value priced meals at over 200 participating restaurants located throughout the Indianapolis area.  Click HERE to plan your “Winterfest” weekend, which includes participating hotels.  Ask your server for the “Devour Indy” menu.  “Winterfest” goes thru Sunday.

 

ROMEO & JULIET

7pm|IRT

Join IRT Staff and Cast immediately after the performance for a post-show discussion that covers a topics related to the show.  The discussion typically lasts 20 minutes.  Romeo & Juliet goes through March 4th.

 

 

“BEAUTIFUL”  THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL

8pm|Clowes Memorial Hall

The inspiring true story of Carole King’s rise to one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history.  You’ll love the music, which includes “I Feel The Earth Move”, “You’ve Got  A Friend”, and “One Fine Day”.  Beautiful is currently appearing on Broadway to sold out crowds.  Don’t miss it in Indy!  Goes through Sunday.

GREAT TRAIN SHOW

10am|Indiana State Fairgrounds South Pavilion

The nation’s only coast-to-coast model train show!  Hundreds of tables of trains and accessories for sale.  Huge operating exhibits that kids of every age will love.  Get Discount Tix HERE.  Saturday and Sunday, 10-4pm both days.

 

 

DECATUR CENTRAL PROM DRESS SALE

10am|Decatur Central High School

Prom Dresses in every size, color and style!   All Dresses are $40, and includes your choice of an accessory.  All dresses have been donated by the community and if you would like to donate, please bring them to the high school, or contact Mrs. Everman at 317-856-5288.

 

 

MARKET DISTRICT’S INAUGURAL CHILI COOK-OFF

11am|Carmel Market District

Judges will sample the finalists Chili concoctions and declare the winner at noon.  Market District and Table will serve chili samples throughout the day.  FREE!

 

 

10th ANNUAL BREWERS OF INDIANA GUILD “WINTERFEST”

2pm|Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion

100+ Indiana Breweries and Guests.  Pouring 3oz. tastes of hundreds of cask ales, specialty beers and more.  Local food and entertainment and benefits the nonprofit Brewers of Indiana Guild and Joy’s House.  Very few tickets left!  2:00 Early Bird – 3:00 General Admission.

 

“SENSE AND SENSIBILITY”

7pm|Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre

A new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, following the fortunes and misfortunes of the Dashwood sisters.  Performances through February 17th.

 

 

“BLACK HOOSIERS”  UNTOLD TALES

7pm|The Lilly Theater at Conner Prairie

A new collection of museum theater performances, that celebrates the lives and contributions of African American Hoosiers.   Join the conversation afterward, to talk about race, history and identity facilitated by Ernest Disney-Britton of the Arts Council and Tamara Winfrey-Harris of the Central Indiana Community Foundation.

 

DUBLIN IRISH DANCE LIVE!

8pm|Carmel Palladium

This troupe of world champion Irish Step Dancers are direct from Dublin.  Featuring former members of “Riverdance”,  Michael Flatley’s  “Lord of the Dance” and “Celtic Woman”, performing with an 8 member traditional Irish band and vocalist.

 

 

 

 

SUNDAY, Feb. 4th

 

RETURN OF THE MAC FOOD FESTIVAL

11am|Circle City Industrial Complex

A new location!  Sample one of Indy’s favorite comfort foods…Mac n’ Cheese from up to 30 different restaurants!  You’ll be amazed and full as chefs put their own spin on the classic dish!  THE FIRST SESSION IS SOLD OUT!  Tickets still available for the 4pm session.  $25.

 

“25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE”

2pm|Actors Theatre of Indiana/Center for Performing Arts - Carmel

Local production of this Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical, complete with audience participation. Six spellers enter, one speller leaves and the losers get a juice box!  Performances go through February 18th.

 

 

HEARTHSIDE SUPPERS

6pm|Conner Prairie

It’s one of Conner Prairie’s most popular events, because YOU help prepare, then enjoy a delicious supper by candlelight.  Afterward, participate in 19th century parlor games, followed by dessert.  Ages 10+.   Saturday and Sunday reservations also available.   $55-$65.
