Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins - At Victory Field Tonight!

The first Canadian in the Baseball Hall of Fame talks Cubs, Rangers, and his time with the Harlem Globetrotters

Yes, Baseball Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins was also a Harlem Globetrotter - he played with the team during baseball's offseason from 1967 - 69, the beginning of his prime with the Chicago Cubs.  Mr. Jenkins, now 71, was that good an athlete.

He is also one of the best pitchers of his era, and it's a shame that he wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.  Fergie clearly deserved it.  Then again, no one will confuse some Hall of Fame voters with literate folk.  Jenkins did at last get into the Hall in 1991, the first Canadian to do so.

Fergie Jenkins will sign autographs before tonight's Indianapolis Indians game with the Rochester Red Wings at Victory Field.  He will be at the centerfield PNC Plaza, where the doors open at 5:00pm.  You better hustle; autographs are guaranteed to the first 500 fans only!  Below is our interview from today's Weekend Indiana.
