Mayor Ballard wants to study it in Indy; education policy analyst Ashlyn Nelson talks about it

It is a fact that African-American children receive more school suspensions and expulsions than white children; that has been documented.  But why that might be the case has not been well researched.  Mayor Ballard hopes to change that with a new study that is part of his plan to give more children access to preschool in Indianapolis.

Ashlyn Nelson is an associate professor at Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs and is our education policy analyst.  She helps us delve into a complex topic.
