Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices were a hot commodity over the holiday season, with tens of millions sold worldwide.

With those kinds of numbers, it's clear that the smart voice assistant definitely makes a big impact in the life of its owner... But what all can it do?

Here's a list of things that Alexa does that will make your every day a breeze:

Play a song, playlist or album

"Alexa, play How You Remind Me by Nickelback."

"Alexa, play My Morning Playlist."

"Alexa, play Michael Jackson's Thriller Album."

Call and/or text somebody

"Alexa, text Nigel."

"Alexa, call Hammer's mobile phone."

Find recipes

Amazon’s Alexa can ALSO give you a briefing of your local news and your weather forecast in a flash… And to make things easier for you, it’s even called a Flash Briefing!

With Flash Briefing, the smart voice assistant can give you news updates, weather updates, and content from your favorite WIBC broadcasters!

How to get started:

  • On your Amazon Alexa app, search for “WIBC” under Alexa skills
  • Click the Enable button
  • Then go to Settings
  • Scroll to Accounts and select Flash Briefing
  • Toggle the button to On next to the “WIBC” app

How to listen to your Flash Briefing:

  • “Alexa, what’s the news?”
  • “Alexa, what’s my Flash Briefing?”
  • "Alexa, what's the forcast?"

Navigate your Flash Briefing:

  • “Next.”
  • “Pause/Stop.”
  • “Resume/Continue.”
  • “Previous.”

Oh, it can also do this:
