WIBC PODCAST: Interview With Sammy Terry (In Memory Of Bob Carter)

The podcast features an interview from 2005 with Bob Carter, who passed away in 2013. Carter originated "Sammy Terry" on WTTV Channel 4 in 1962.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – If you’ve lived in Indianapolis or central Indiana for a long time, you probably grew up watching Sammy Terry on WTTV Channel 4.  The host of “Nightmare Theater” was originated by Robert "Bob" Carter in 1962 after the station had purchased a package of classic horror films to run late nights during the weekends.  Carter, who was the on-air host of “Coffee With Carter” was asked to create another “host” for these movies.

Carter appeared regularly on WTTV until 1989 when new management decided to take Sammy Terry and local children’s show “Cowboy Bob’s Corral” off the air.  Carter made public appearances until 2010 when his son Mark took over the role.  Mark continues appearing throughout central Indiana to keep the legacy of "Sammy Terry" around for a new generation of fans.

Bob Carter passed away on June 30, 2013 at the age of 83.
