WHAT: Women AND men will throw on their favorite red dress and dash around Monument Circle in support of Women’s heart health in the eighth annual Red Dress Dash. Past winners of the American Heart Association’s “Real People. Real Change.” program and members of the Indianapolis Fire Department are among those expected to participate. The event raises awareness for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement and the fact that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women. This event includes free training in Hands-Only CPR among other activities.

WHEN: Tuesday, February 4th

Noon – Participants gather in the lobby of the Emmis Building (Photo booth, Hands-Only CPR training, other activities)

12:30 pm – Red Dress Dash around Monument Circle

WHY: Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for 1 of every 3 deaths. The Go Red for Women movement educates women about heart disease signs and symptoms as well as the fact that 80 percent of heart disease is preventable by making healthy lifestyle choices. Go Red for Women also funds research specifically aimed at reducing heart disease among women.
