There was a time in America’s history when artificial intelligence in an automobile came in one model only: K.I.T.T.

The Knight Industries Two-Thousand was likable and had a nice personality. Yeah, there was his older brother, K.A.R.R., who was the type to auto-eject you from the driver’s seat if you did so much as pass a little gas, but Michael and K.I.T.T. to an end to that nonsense in 1984.

Anyway, K.I.T.T. was great and K.A.R.R. was an ass with an attitude.

Nowadays, every automaker in the world is inking deals with Big Tech companies to equip their vehicles with artificial intelligence capabilities. What could go wrong, right? Volvo did nicely with their A.I. “auto-braking” system.

Ford is the latest car company to sign a deal with Silicon Valley.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based company announced Monday that it will turn its vehicle operating systems over to Google and begin using Android to power its infotainment systems in “millions” of its cars beginning in 2023.

This, of course, means Google Assistant will be running the show in all of Ford’s vehicles, and she’s got herself a real attitude about it. In fact, she’s talking ‘smack.’
