Contest Rules and Regulations

Who Can Enter

1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, nominees must attend an IHSAA sanctioned high school as a senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and participate on an IHSAA sanctioned high school sports team.
2. Employees of Dial One Hour, Emmis Communications, the IHSAA, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, local radio stations, television or cable, or any other media company, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.

How to Enter

1. No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per contestant.

3. The contest starts on August 13, 2007, and all nominations must be received by IHSAASports.org by 5p.m. on the 17th of each participating month. IHSAASports.org is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail or for printing errors.
4. On the last day of each month, one Scholar Athlete will be judged by IHSAASports.org personnel from among valid entries meeting the qualifications. A total of twenty (20) Scholar Athletes will be selected. (10 – Male & 10 – Female)
5. All nominations received that are mutilated, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All nominations become the property of IHSAASports.org, and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Prize(s)

1. Each month, one male and one female Scholar Athlete will be featured during a vignette showcasing them as that month's Scholar Athlete. During the month of June 2008, a banquet will be held in honor all of the chosen Scholar Athletes. At the banquet, each Scholar Athlete will receive a medal and a frame with picture. Each of the twenty (20) Scholar Athletes, ten (10) male and ten (10) female will receive a scholarship check, awarded in their High Schools name in the amount of $1000. The school will untimately award the monetary prize, taking into consideration all elegibility rules and regulations.
2. Monthly Scholar Athletes will be notified by phone. Monthly Scholar Athletes must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within five (5) days of notification. If a monthly Scholar Athlete is a minor, then the monthly Scholar Athlete's parents or guardian must sign an affidavit of eligibility before the monthly Scholar Athlete receives his or her award. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. IHSAASports.org reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the award based on the identification presented.
3. If a Scholar Athlete does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, another Scholar Athlete will be selected.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for awards except at the sole discretion of IHSAASports.org. IHSAASports.org has the right to substitute an award of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The monthly Scholar Athlete is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6. Only one award will be awarded per nominee.
7. Dial One Hour, and IHSAASports.org is not liable if the provider of any part of the award fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the award.
8. Dial One Hour, and IHSAASports.org is not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the award.
9. In claiming your award, you acknowledge that Dial One Hour, and IHSAASports.org is have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Dial One Hour, Emmis Communications, and IHSAASports.org accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
4. IHSAASports.org cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen nominations, prizes or award information.
5. IHSAASports.org reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
