4:40pm - Scott Dixon wins the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500.
The most dominant car all day - and all month - comes through with
the victory.
4:39pm - Two laps left; Dixon has a little lapped traffic to deal
with, but is clearly in control.
4:33pm - After a long battle which included Helio being warned for
blocking, Marco finally gets by the #3 and moves into third position…
4:32pm - Dixon is starting to pull away, opening up a 20 car-length
lead over Meira. 188 laps complete; it might take another caution
to bring Dixon back to the field
4:25pm - A wild restart with lots of action all throughout the field.
Dixon, Meira, Castroneves, Andretti, and Hideki Mutoh are the top
5.
4:16pm - Ryan Briscoe and Danica Patrick come together in pit lane…Briscoe’s
crew pushes the #6 back to his pit while Danica gets help from the
safety crew. Vitor Meira makes a :07 stop and stays out in front.
4:13pm - Milka Duno has nowhere to go in close racing with Buddy
Lazier…she avoids Lazier, but crashes her machine to bring
out the 8th caution. Duno had been on the lead lap the entire race.
4:05pm - Ed Carpenter did not stop during caution and took the lead
at the restart…Dixon and Meira made it a 3-way battle into
the backstretch, and Vitor takes the lead.
4:03pm - During pit stops, major problems. Tomas Scheckter is out
of his car with a broken input shaft - his day is done. Also, Dan
Wheldon had a long stop - the engine cowling was off for a few moments
- and is now at the tail end of the lead lap.
3:54pm - Alex Lloyd hits the wall out of the exit of Turn 4 just
before the entrance to the pits, and spins to a stop in the middle
of pit lane. 7th caution of the day.
