Steve Simpson hosts Indy’s Morning News and is a senior producer for WIBC. Steve is also the primary anchor for breaking coverage around the clock on WIBC.
When severe weather or major news happens, Steve can be heard giving listeners the very latest on the story. Steve anchored through the night during coverage of the 2000, 2004 and 2008 presidential elections. He also anchored much of the 9/11 coverage on WIBC, which was simulcast on all four of Emmis' Indianapolis stations. Following the attacks, Steve provided updates to news/talk sister station KTAR in Phoenix along with Emmis' New York and Los Angeles stations.
Steve is a graduate of Syracuse University. He started his career in Syracuse, New York at WHEN and WKFM. He moved to Indiana in 1987 to work at WKLR-FM. In 1992, Steve made the move to WIBC.
Steve’s talent and dedication have been recognized numerous times by the Associated Press, Indiana Broadcaster’s Association, and Society of Professional Journalists.
