Westfield Boy Going to Congress for Diabates Research

A Westfield boy is in Washington, D.C. this week to remind Congress of the critical need to find a cure for a disease they live with every day- Type 1 diabetes.

8-year-old Elliott Davis is a delegate representing Indiana in the Children’s Congress.

Elliott was diagnosed with diabetes at 5 years old. His mother, Bridget, says until a cure is found, people with Type 1 diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections multiple times or use a pump every day.

She says the message to Congress will be "support diabetes research because Type 1 diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions in the United States.”
