Indiana is one of 16 states picked by the White House's Office of National Drug Control Policy for an educational campaign to reduce meth use.

The state ranks second in the nation for meth lab seizures and incidents reported to the Drug and Enforcement Administration.
Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Commander Sgt. Niki Crawford says this year has marked a 25-percent increase from 2008, with the numbers on pace to break the record for the number of lab seizures in the state.
From 2007 to 2008, the number also grew seizures also grew 25 to 30 percent. Arrests made in connection with methamphetamine have increased 61 percent in 2009.
Crawford is hopeful the education campaign featuring public service announcements will make a difference by promoting prevention as a first line of defense. The effort began September 1.
