FFA Attendee Falls from Third Story in Mall
A 16-year-old FFA member from Texas fell from the 3rd floor of Circle Centre Mall around 2:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
IMPD Sgt. Paul Thompson says the boy was sitting on a railing near Carson-Pirie-Scott when he lost his balance and fell. He hit the 2nd floor barricade and then fell all the way to the floor.
He suffered blunt force trauma injuries and was taken to Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
Thompson says no one else was injured in the fall, but at least one other person received oxygen after witnessing the fall.
A detective is investigating, but Thompson says it's believed to have been an accident.
