The Indianapolis man known as the "praying robber" appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show Friday.

23-year-old Gregory Smith has gained national attention after he attempted to rob an Indianapolis check cashing business Monday afternoon, but ended up praying with his victim.

Smith, the victim, Angie Montez, and Smith's mother and girlfriend appeared on the show.

Smith apologized to Montez live on the show. Montez says she accepts Smith's apology and that she was worried about him before he turned himself into police on Tuesday.

Smith remains held without bond in the Marion County Jail.
