Approximately three percent of Indiana residents have been vaccinated against the H1N1 Flu virus.

State Health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe says 660,000 doses of the vaccine have been ordered and should be in Indiana within the next day or two.

The additional doses should allow Indiana to provide the vaccine to about ten-percent of the state population.

Monroe says nine confirmed H1N1 deaths have been reported in the state since last week. There have been 20 deaths here since this pandemic began. Nineteen are confirmed H1N1 cases.

She says because we are seeing more cases of H1N1, the case fatality ratio is "not alarming."

Monroe says no one can accurately predict if a second wave of H1N1 will hit Indiana, but she admits it is a concern.

"The concern is we may be at the peak or close to the peak of this wave... But come January, we may see an even steeper peak," Monroe said.
