An elderly couple was the victim of a home invasion robbery Thursday morning at 3120 Salt Lake Road.

The couple had just returned home after having breakfast in Brownsbug and about 10 minutes after they arrived, there was a knock on the door.

The wife, 70-year-old Nancy Williams, opened the door and was hit and shoved into a chair. The assailant threw a blanket over here and told her to stay there or she would be dead.

A second assailant struck her husband, 74-year-old Bill Williams, in the face and then attempted to tie him up.

Both assailants then went through the house and the couple's personal effects. They found a small safe that was locked and contained a large amount of cash.

The thieves put the safe and some jewelry into a Marsh paper bag and left on foot.

One suspect was described as a young black male, probably in his early 20's, skinny and wearing a blue hoodie. The second was believed to be the same age and wearing a white jacket.

Neither of the victims required any medical attention.

Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to call IMPS Northwest District Detectives at 327-6621 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
