A man accused of painting graffiti, or "tagging," many buildings across the city has been arrested.

IMPD Sgt. Matt Mount says 23-year-old Miguel Villanueva was taken into custody for painting graffiti, including the word "choke," in several places, such as the historic Fletcher Place neighborhood.

The tagging caused an estimated $100,000 damage.

Mount says Villanueva was tracked down using pictures of his tagging and confessed to the crimes. He has been charged with three counts of criminal mischief.
