Sarah Palin isn't the only prominent Republican visiting the Indianapolis area Thursday.
Listen:
Former President George H.W. Bush is the headliner for a dinner in Indianapolis to raise money for Alzheimer's research.
The Indiana chapter of the Alzheimer's Association arranged Bush's appearance at a fundraising dinner at the Meridian Street home of former Marion County Clerk Doris Anne Sadler. The home's prior owners include Hoosier novelist Booth Tarkington.
Proceeds will benefit the chapter and Alzheimer's research centers at IUPUI and UCLA. The head of the UCLA center, Jeffrey Cummings, is one of the world's top Alzheimer's researchers, and also made the trip to Indy for the event.
Bush himself is still jumping out of airplanes at age 85, but he served as vice president under Ronald Reagan, who died of Alzheimer's in 2004.
