Toddler Remains Critical after Crash into Daycare

IMPD photoA toddler remains in critical condition after two robbery suspects crashed into a northeast side daycare center Thursday afternoon.

According to a police report, the child is 5-year-old Javion Miller. He remains in critical condition at Methodist Hospital with neck and head injuries.

IMPD Lt. Jeff Duhammel says the crash happened at Stepping Stones Child Care at 46th and Allisonville Road.

Police were pursuing two suspects who allegedly robbed a Family Dollar just a few blocks away.

Three other children and two adults received injuries in the crash, but were treated and released from hospitals.

19-year old Theo Sanford and 21-year old Darron Crowe are in custody facing charges of armed robbery, carrying a handgun without a license and fleeing police. Additional charges could be filed.

Police found a handgun, cash and clothes in the vehicle that may have been used in the robbery.

Detectives are also looking for a possible third suspect who they believe fled after the crash.

Anyone with information on the robbery or crash is asked to call police.
