About 250 jobs are being cut at a Plainfield warehouse.
Listen:
Town Manager Rich Carlucci says he got a notice from the state Department of Workforce Development saying Ceva Logistics would be shutting down operations at the end of June.
Ceva Logistics works with John Deere at the Plainfield facility.
Carlucci says the news is disappointing, but says Plainfield already has two new companies coming in to do business. However, Carlucci admits those new ventures won't be able to employ everyone who gets let go from Ceva.
Ceva officials say they chose to close the Plainfield facility because it is re-organizing its distribution services.
The layoffs will begin in late May and finish at the end of June.
