Indy Man to Chair Indiana Black Male Panel

An Indianapolis youth service leader has been elected the chairman of the Indiana Commission on the Social Status of Black Males for 2010.

Robert Marshall Jr. has been on the state panel since 2007. He also currently serves on the Marion County and Central Indiana Youth Resources Boards.

The commission works on challenges faced by black males in areas such as criminal justice, education, jobs, and health. Nine local commissions operate in Anderson, Bloomington, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Gary, Indianapolis, Jeffersonville, Michigan City and Muncie.

Kenneth Allen of Gary was re-elected as vice chairman of the commission.
