Rokita: Online Voter Registration Comes In July


With the 2010 November election about five months away, Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita says it's a goal of his office to make voting easier for those who want to cast their ballots.


Rokita met with fellow election officials from across the state Tuesday near the Indianapolis International Airport to discuss the continuing evolution of the election process.

"A goal of our office is to create a more efficient government that will lower costs and improve service," Rokita said.

"Our election administrators and county clerks have demonstrated that new technologies can and should be embraced and that reform is possible without sacrificing integrity."

Rokita also sees the adoption of vote centers as a viable option for counties looking to save taxpayers' money.
