NFL executives and the Super Bowl Committee are meeting this week to discuss plans for the 2012 Super Bowl to be held in Indianapolis.

NFL Senior Vice President of Events Frank Supovitz says the event planners are getting familiarized with the city and the various events to be held here in 2012.

Supovitz says one key aspect of Indianapolis is its ability to condense all the downtown venues into a cohesive unit.

Super Bowl committee chair Mark Miles says Indianapolis was designed to host this kind of event. He says Indianapolis will be Winter Olympic Village meets the Super Bowl.

Supovitz and Miles say they cannot worry about a potential lockout next season, which could cancel the 2012 Super Bowl.  They say the plans must go on.
