It’s 500 days until Super Bowl 2012 comes to Indianapolis, and the host committee is laying out goals of what they want done before the big game.
Super Bowl Commitee Chair Mark Miles says they have four key goals: to exceed the NFL’s expectations for a Super Bowl, leave a lasting legacy on the east side of Indianapolis, engage the broad community and find the next diverse group of civic talent.
Miles says the Super Bowl village will also leave a lasting impression. It will involve infrastructure improvements including sound and lighting equipment that will be permanent fixtures downtown.
Miles compared it to Chicago's Rush Street.
Committee President Allison Melangton says NFL executives in town this week said they are very impressed with the planning so far.
