The president of FOP Local 86, Bill Owensby, told 93 WIBC's Greg Garrison he's thankful the police have a new contract with the city but something has to be done about the low morale in the department.

Pointing to a recent survey showing dissatisfaction among the rank-and-file, Owensby says he hopes to sit down with the Mayor and see how the problem can be resolved.

Owensby says he believes most citizens understand that the number of officers who have been in trouble constitutes less than one percent of the department.
